Frameless Shower Screen Hardware Options for a Spa Bathroom

by Chad Brewer

One of the upgrades that many people are using when they renovate their bathroom is a spa bathroom theme. The spa bathroom is usually done in a design to model massage and spa houses around the world. Bamboo, glass and mosaic tiles are generally used to create the spa-like feel. The idea is to keep the room as natural, open and inviting as possible. One way to do this is to go with a frameless shower screen. The issue is when you choose your hardware. Here are a few frameless shower screen hardware options that will add a nice touch to your spa bathroom theme.

Hinges and Handles Sets

One item you may want to consider is a hinge and handle set. The reason you want to look into sets is that the finish will match and you won't have an issue of the finish looking slightly off. You also can reduce the chances of the hinges or the handles fading or aging faster than the other since they are from the same finish lot. With that in mind, you want to keep the finish simple on these hinges and handle sets. Try to go with a tone that matches the rest of the bathroom. For example, if you have a copper tone in the tiles or the room, go with a copper finish or natural wood finish.

Pivot Mount Hinges

With a spa theme bathroom, you likely want the least amount of industrial looking hardware in the room. This includes hardware on the shower screen that may stand out from the rest of the room. One option you can use is a pivot mount hinge. These types of hinges are flush to the shower screen and do not stand out as something that looks industrial. Even when they are moved and used, they do not stand out from the door and pivot smoothly adding to the flow of the room and the feeling the theme brings to your bathroom experience.

Knob-Style Handles

You may think the only handles available for your frameless shower screen are curved or angled pull handles. These may look a bit too industrial for your needs and your spa theme. If that is the case, you can consider a knob-style handle. These knob styles are small and look like a traditional pull knob. You can even match them to knobs on your drawers and cabinets in the bathroom to give a smooth feel to the decor in the room. The knobs are also available in various finishes to match your needs.

When you are ready to order your hardware pieces, consider visiting your local bathroom contractor supply house or a home improvement store. You can take the ideas you have and match them to the frameless shower screen hardware options that best suit your needs. You can also ask about installation questions or find out if the hardware can be installed by their installation team.
